Chelsea Confirms Cole Palmer to Miss Several Weeks with Groin Injury

Chelsea head coach Enzo Maresca has confirmed that Cole Palmer will be sidelined for several weeks due to a groin injury. The issue first emerged during warm-ups ahead of the match against West Ham United, and Palmer continued to struggle in subsequent games against Brentford, Bayern Munich, and Manchester United.
The decision to rest Palmer is intended to protect his condition and prevent the injury from worsening. Maresca indicated that the playmaker will take two to three weeks off before the upcoming international break to ensure a full recovery. The injury does not require surgery and is being managed through rest and careful handling.
Since joining Chelsea two years ago, Palmer has made 101 appearances, scoring 45 goals and providing 29 assists. The demanding schedule, which includes international duty with England and participation in the Club World Cup, has limited his recovery time and contributed to the current injury.
While Palmer’s absence presents a challenge for Chelsea ahead of key fixtures against Brighton, Benfica, and Liverpool, it also offers an opportunity for him to fully regain fitness. The team must adapt to his temporary absence but benefits from the prospect of a fully recovered player returning post-international break.
