Persik Kediri Strengthens Midfield with Venezuelan Playmaker Williams Lugo

Persik Kediri has boosted its squad ahead of the 2025-26 Super League season by signing Williams Lugo, an attacking midfielder from Venezuela. Lugo, aged 26 and standing 175 cm tall, is no stranger to Indonesian football, having played for PSBS Biak last season where he delivered impressive stats with several goals and assists in 30 appearances.
Before moving to Indonesia, Lugo gained valuable experience playing for multiple clubs in Venezuela, including Portuguesa, Deportivo La Guaira, and Puerto Cabello. His background and skills were key factors in Persik’s decision to bring him on board to enhance their midfield options.
The club management views Lugo as a player with speed, creativity, and sharp game vision—qualities expected to add more variety and strength to Persik’s attack. His arrival marks the tenth foreign player in the squad this season, highlighting the team’s ambition to compete strongly.
Persik hopes Lugo will quickly adapt and become an influential figure in the team, injecting positive energy and helping to improve their offensive play through the midfield. The club is counting on him to deliver maximum contributions throughout the season and elevate the team’s overall performance.
