Aston Villa in Advanced Talks to Sign £145,000-a-Week Star, He's Said Yes to Joining
Abraham, who earns around £145,000-a-week, is on loan at Besiktas from Serie A side Roma, but the Turkish side have a conditional obligation worth £11m of which Turkish sources say the conditions have been met to formally trigger. That means Villa have to negotiate with the Turkish giants to try and find a solution.

Reaching an agreement with Besiktas was always expected to be the trickiest part of negotiations, but GIVEMESPORT understands that Villa are working on finding a solution, and there is still optimism a deal can be completed.

Yet with no breakthrough yet, Crystal Palace's Jean-Philipe Mateta is another player Villa are prepared to advance on if a move for Abraham falls through. Villa have had Mateta on their radar for quite some time despite not yet making a formal approach to Palace.

For Abraham's part, the forward has agreed to switch to Villa, where he played under Dean Smith in 2018/19 as the Villains won promotion from the Championship, but it all now depends on Besiktas.

Aston Villa are in advanced talks with Tammy Abraham about bringing him back to the Premier League in January, GIVEMESPORT sources understand.

Unai Emery's side have had a terrific season so far and currently sit seven points behind league leaders Arsenal following their 1-0 defeat to Everton on Sunday. Villa are now seeking further attacking options in their squad after they allowed Donyell Malen to depart for AS Roma earlier this month on a loan with a conditional obligation.

Villa are pushing to replace the Netherlands international with a familiar face in Abraham, but they must agree a deal with Besiktas in order to proceed.

Aston Villa Need Watkins Competition

In recent seasons, one of the biggest talking points in the Villa squad has been their striker department, with Ollie Watkins a key member of their team but also needing competition to be at his best.

Villa thought they had found that in Jhon Duran but he then left for Al-Nassr. Loans for Marcus Rashford, Jadon Sancho and Marco Asensio did not result in permanent switches, and now Malen has departed for Serie A.

In Abraham, or Mateta should Villa pivot to the French striker, the club would be bringing in a Premier League-proven forward that could aid Villa's push for Champions League qualification and potentially even sustain a push for the title.
