Everton could now accelerate deal to sign £24m winger after worrying Jack Grealish injury update

Everton have been hit by a damning injury blow to Jack Grealish over the last 24 hours.

Everton have announced that Grealish will have to see a specialist this week after sustaining an injury during the Aston Villa win.

David Ornstein has just dropped a fresh update on his condition, as the Toffees suspect it could be a stress fracture to his foot.

Taking to X, Ornstein wrote: “Jack Grealish suffers suspected stress fracture to foot – concerns injury will see Everton attacker miss months rather than weeks. Prognosis clearer after 30yo sees specialist in coming days to assess problem; major blow for England int’l.”

That said, David Moyes has been left really short on the left flank and could now accelerate a deal to sign a winger on the continent.

Everton could now advance in talks to sign Noa Lang

Everton will be forced to play Dwight McNeil on the left wing with Grealish set to be out for a sustained period.

So, quite clearly, Moyes will be desperate to bring in another wide player before the January transfer window slams shut on February 3rd.

The Toffees were already looking at Napoli winger Noa Lang before the Grealish news, so perhaps that deal could now advance at pace.

Lang, who cost Napoli £24m last summer, is being heavily linked with a move to Galatasaray, so club chiefs will have to act quickly.

Noa Lang would be the perfect signing

Lang would be a really clever recruit this winter, as he would be able to cover multiple positions due to his versatility.

The 15-cap Netherlands international is a left winger by trade, but can operate as a centre-forward and on the right flank.

Lang could even play alongside Thierno Barry in a front two, so he’d give Moyes a number of interesting options.

Everton have also looked at Harry Wilson, but he’s best off the right flank, so that potential transfer wouldn’t make much sense anymore.
