The decision comes against the backdrop of a large-scale military strike codenamed “Operation Fury,” jointly launched by the United States and Israel against Iran. The move has quickly impacted Spanish football, with the most immediate consequence being uncertainty over the high-profile clash set for March 27, where European champions Spain were due to face World Cup winners Argentina in the Finalissima.
