FIFA Unveils New Trophy Ahead of Inaugural Women’s Intercontinental Club Championship

FIFA has officially revealed the trophy for its newly launched Women’s Intercontinental Club Championship, marking a key milestone ahead of the tournament’s opening week in London. The competition is set to crown the first women’s intercontinental club champion next month, signaling a major step in the global development of the women’s club game.
The trophy presentation took place at a school near Brentford Stadium, which will host the semifinal matches later this month. The ceremony highlighted FIFA’s intention to establish the tournament as a regular fixture on the women’s football calendar, mirroring the prestige and structure of established men’s intercontinental competitions.
The championship brings together continental titleholders from UEFA, CONMEBOL, CAF, and Concacaf. Only four clubs advance to the final stage, reflecting a compact, high-stakes format designed to showcase the best of women’s club football from different regions of the world.
Action begins with two semifinals at Brentford Stadium. Concacaf champions Gotham FC will face Brazil’s Corinthians, winners of the CONMEBOL Libertadores Femenina, while UEFA Women’s Champions League holders Arsenal are set to meet ASFAR of Morocco, the reigning CAF champions.
The third-place playoff and the final will be staged at Arsenal’s Emirates Stadium, underlining FIFA’s ambition to elevate the tournament’s profile through elite venues. Beyond the sporting spectacle, the event also serves as a testing ground for FIFA to assess global interest, commercial potential, and broadcast appeal as it considers expanding the competition in future editions.
