Bojan Hodak Nearing Contract Expiry at Persib, Could a Move to Indonesia’s National Team Be Next?

Bojan Hodak’s time with Persib Bandung is approaching a potential crossroads as his contract moves into its final months. The Croatian coach was initially brought in during the 2023/2024 season to fill the void left by Luis Milla, and at that time, many supporters were uncertain about his ability to lift the team. Over time, however, he earned trust through results rather than reputation, gradually reshaping the squad into a strong and consistent contender.

Under his leadership, Persib went on to claim the Liga 1 title in consecutive seasons, proving his tactical approach and player management were effective. Beyond domestic success, Persib’s performance in the ACL Champions League Two also highlighted the progress made under his guidance. These achievements helped cement Hodak’s reputation as one of the league’s most capable coaches.

Despite this success, Persib has not yet taken steps to extend his contract, which is scheduled to end in the coming months. Based on current regulations, a coach or player in this situation is allowed to start discussions with other clubs once they are within the final six months of their deal. If Persib does not act soon, Hodak could legally open negotiations starting December 1, opening the door to new opportunities elsewhere.

With the Indonesian national team currently without a head coach, Hodak’s name has naturally surfaced as a potential candidate. His familiarity with Indonesian football and proven results with both Persib and PSM Makassar make him an appealing option in the eyes of supporters. While PSSI has acknowledged that several candidates are being considered, no names have been officially confirmed. This leaves Hodak’s future open, and his next move could significantly shape both his career and Indonesian football’s direction.
