Marco Rose Tipped to Replace Ten Hag After Leverkusen Sacking

Bayer Leverkusen has officially parted ways with Erik ten Hag following internal conflicts with club executives and a disappointing start to the 2025/26 Bundesliga season. Under his short-lived tenure, the team failed to secure a win in their first two matches, registering one draw and one loss, while conceding five goals and scoring four.
In the wake of Ten Hag’s departure, Marco Rose has emerged as the leading candidate to take over as Leverkusen's new head coach. Currently without a club after being dismissed by RB Leipzig earlier this year, Rose brings significant experience in German football, having previously managed Borussia Dortmund and Borussia Monchengladbach.
Rose's most notable achievements came during his time at Leipzig, where he won both the DFB Pokal and the German Super Cup in the 2022/23 season. His tactical knowledge and familiarity with the Bundesliga make him a strong contender for the Leverkusen role.
Alongside Rose, Edin Terzic and Xavi Hernandez are also being considered for the position. Xavi stands out with his managerial experience at Barcelona, though Rose appears to be the frontrunner due to his recent domestic success and availability.
