Alexander Isak’s Move to Liverpool Inches Closer as Newcastle Seeks Replacement

The transfer of Swedish striker Alexander Isak to Liverpool appears increasingly likely as Newcastle United works to find a suitable replacement during the summer transfer window. Isak is reportedly determined to leave St James' Park, putting pressure on Newcastle to manage the situation carefully. However, the club has made it clear that they will only sanction the sale once a new striker is secured by manager Eddie Howe.
Initially, Newcastle set a high asking price for Isak at around £150 million (approximately Rp3.15 trillion), but recent reports suggest that a deal could be struck for about £130 million (Rp2.73 trillion), including add-ons. Liverpool’s current official bid stands at £110 million (Rp2.31 trillion), with room to increase their offer by roughly £20 million to meet Newcastle’s demands, although there is uncertainty over whether Liverpool’s management is willing to commit such a large sum.
For Liverpool, acquiring Isak would represent a major boost to their attacking options under new manager Arne Slot. The 25-year-old forward has proven his ability to perform well in the Premier League and is seen as a key figure to lead the team’s challenge in both domestic and European competitions. Isak’s strong personal desire to join Liverpool adds momentum to the potential transfer.
Meanwhile, Newcastle faces a critical decision as selling their star striker would provide significant funds to reinvest in the squad, either this summer or during the January window. Yet, losing Isak could also weaken their chances of maintaining or improving their position in the Premier League, making the decision a delicate balancing act for the club’s ambitions.
