Lifetime Ban Shakes East Java League After Violent On-Field Incident
A severe disciplinary decision has rocked the East Java football scene following a shocking act of violence in a Liga 4 match. The regional disciplinary committee of the East Java Football Association moved swiftly to address the incident, signaling a strong stance against brutality on the pitch.

The player at the center of the case, Muhammad Hilmi Gimnastiar of Putra Jaya Pasuruan, received a lifetime ban from all football-related activities. The punishment was imposed after his actions were deemed far beyond the boundaries of normal competitive fouls and incompatible with the principles of fair play.

The incident occurred during a Group C round-of-32 match in the Liga 4 East Java Governor’s Cup 2025-26 between Putra Jaya Pasuruan and Perseta 1970 Tulungagung. The match took place at Gelora Bangkalan Stadium, where tensions escalated into a moment of extreme misconduct.

Hilmi delivered a forceful kick to the chest of opposing player Firman Nugraha Ardhiansyah, causing serious injuries. Following a detailed review, the disciplinary body concluded that the act constituted clear violence under the national football disciplinary code, rather than a routine violation of the rules.

In addition to the lifetime ban, the player was also fined an administrative penalty. The harsh sanction was intended to preserve the integrity of football in East Java and deter similar actions in the future, while still allowing room for an appeal under the established disciplinary procedures.
