Bayern Munich Prioritizes Long-Term Extension for Harry Kane

According to Sky Germany, Bayern Munich has made extending Harry Kane’s contract a top priority, with plans to secure the striker until 2028 or 2029. Although his current deal runs until 2027, the club is eager to eliminate any uncertainty regarding his future, especially given a reported release clause becoming active in 2026. Preliminary talks have already begun, and both parties appear to be aligned on a long-term commitment.
The 32-year-old England captain has publicly expressed his desire to remain in Bavaria, stating at a recent fan event that there is "nowhere he would rather be." Kane is reportedly in peak physical condition and remains the focal point of Vincent Kompany’s attack, having already recorded a staggering 19 goals and 3 assists in just 15 appearances this season. His seamless integration into German life and leadership in the dressing room have further convinced the board to accelerate renewal efforts.
While sporting directors Max Eberl and Christoph Freund continue to monitor the broader market for future depth, their immediate strategy centers on Kane as the team’s undisputed pillar. For Kane, the focus remains on securing a historic treble this season rather than a return to the Premier League. With mutual interest high, an official announcement regarding the extension could be finalized shortly after the winter break.
