Mbappé Wins Legal Battle as PSG Ordered to Pay Outstanding Wages
A Paris labor court has ruled in favor of Kylian Mbappé, ordering Paris Saint-Germain to pay around €60 million in unpaid salaries and bonuses. The verdict brings partial closure to a long-running dispute between the French star and his former club.

The case centered on wages and bonuses that were not paid during the final months of Mbappé’s contract in April, May, and June 2024. Those months became the focus of the conflict shortly before his free transfer to Real Madrid.

The court recognized Mbappé’s entitlement to his salary, ethical bonus, and signing bonus, noting that previous rulings by the French Professional Football League supported those claims. PSG failed to prove the existence of any written agreement that would have nullified his rights.

While the ruling rejected PSG’s arguments regarding forfeited wages, it also dismissed several additional claims raised by Mbappé. Allegations related to hidden employment, moral harassment, and safety violations were not upheld, limiting the scope of compensation.

Overall, the decision reinforced the application of labor law within professional football. The court acknowledged that Mbappé fulfilled his contractual duties throughout his seven-year spell at the club, while PSG’s concerns focused more on transfer strategy than on unpaid contractual obligations.
