Indonesia Set for FIFA Series 2026 Opener Against Saint Kitts and Nevis

Indonesia Set for FIFA Series 2026 Opener Against Saint Kitts and Nevis

The Indonesian Football Association has confirmed the official format for the FIFA Series 2026, a short international tournament scheduled for March. Indonesia’s national team is set to face Saint Kitts and Nevis in the opening match, with the winner advancing to the final.

According to details provided by the federation after receiving information from FIFA, the competition will consist of only three matches. Two opening fixtures will determine the finalists, followed by a single championship game to decide the overall winner.

In the other match, Bulgaria will meet the Solomon Islands, and the two winners will compete in the final. The matchups and tournament structure were determined entirely by FIFA, leaving the host nation without influence over the selection of opponents.

The FIFA Series is part of the official international calendar and is designed to bring together national teams from different confederations. The format provides participating countries with valuable international experience and an opportunity to improve their FIFA rankings.

Ahead of the tournament, Indonesia’s head coach John Herdman has begun preparations by monitoring domestic league matches and visiting players based in Europe. With the event scheduled to take place from March 23 to March 31, 2026, the competition is seen as an important chance for Indonesia to test its progress and build consistency on the international stage.
