Persib Secure Kurzawa for the Short Term While Locking in Young Defender Dion Markx Until 2028

Persib Bandung have officially introduced two new signings ahead of the second transfer window of the 2025-26 BRI Super League season. The club added experienced French defender Layvin Kurzawa and young Indonesian prospect Dion Markx as part of their efforts to strengthen the squad for domestic and continental competitions.
Kurzawa joined Persib on a free transfer after spending his last stint with Portuguese side Boavista. The former Paris Saint-Germain and France international had been without competitive action for several months, making his move to Bandung a fresh opportunity to revive his career while providing experience to the team.
Despite his pedigree, Persib opted for a short-term deal for Kurzawa. His contract runs only until the end of the current season, though an extension remains possible depending on his performance and the team’s needs. The club views him primarily as a versatile option capable of covering several defensive and wide positions.
In contrast, Persib made a long-term commitment to Dion Markx, signing him from Dutch second-division club TOP Oss. The 20-year-old defender, who represented Indonesia at the 2025 SEA Games, has been tied down until mid-2028 as part of the club’s future-oriented recruitment strategy.
The acquisition of Dion reflects Persib’s focus on squad depth and sustainability. With his European experience and background in the national youth team, he is expected to gradually develop into a key figure in the back line. Together, the two signings balance immediate needs with long-term planning as Persib aim to remain competitive on multiple fronts.
