Barcelona Step Up Transfer Drive with Four New Signings Close to Completion

Barcelona have increased their activity in the transfer market over recent weeks, signaling a clear push to strengthen their future squad. Following the arrival of João Cancelo from Al Hilal, the club is now on the verge of finalizing four additional signings, all expected to arrive in Catalonia before the winter window closes.
The most advanced deal involves Hamza Abdelkarim, an 18-year-old forward from Al Ahly. Barcelona have already reached an agreement with the Egyptian club, clearing the way for the young attacker to continue his development in Spain. His move reflects the club’s growing focus on recruiting promising talent at an early stage.
Alongside Abdelkarim, Barcelona are also close to securing three other young players: Ajay Tavares, Patricio Pacifico, and Juwensley Onstein. Negotiations for all three are reportedly in their final stages, suggesting the club is moving swiftly to wrap up multiple deals in a short period of time.
Pacifico, a 19-year-old defender from Uruguay, is set to arrive from Defensor Sporting on a loan deal that includes an option to buy. This approach allows Barcelona to assess his progress while maintaining financial flexibility. Meanwhile, Dutch defender Onstein is expected to join from Genk as a replacement for Andrés Cuenca, who is nearing a move to Como.
All four newcomers are expected to begin their journey within Barcelona’s youth setup. However, with head coach Hansi Flick known for trusting young players when needed, strong performances could open the door to first-team opportunities in the future. These signings underline Barcelona’s long-term strategy of building from within while keeping an eye on immediate squad balance.
