Persis Solo Strengthens Defense with Serbian Duo Ahead of Second Half Push

Persis Solo has moved decisively to address its defensive weaknesses ahead of the second half of the 2025-26 Super League season. With results falling short of expectations, the club acted quickly in the transfer market to reinforce the back line as it battles to climb out of the relegation zone.
The management officially introduced two foreign signings from Serbia: goalkeeper Vukasin Vranes and central defender Dusan Mijic. Both players are expected to bring much-needed stability to a defensive unit that struggled heavily during the first half of the campaign.
Persis Solo’s back line was among the most vulnerable in the league, conceding 38 goals before the mid-season break. This defensive record placed the club just one goal better than PSBS Biak, highlighting the urgency for structural changes and fresh personnel at the back.
Vranes arrives from Serbian club FK FAP Priboj and is set to take responsibility as the last line of defense. His arrival is aimed at improving organization and confidence in goal, while adapting quickly to the intensity and atmosphere of Indonesian football.
Meanwhile, Mijic, who previously played in Uzbekistan’s top division with PFK Qizilqum, has been tasked with strengthening the central defensive area. Both players are seen as immediate solutions as Persis Solo focuses on escaping the danger zone, stabilizing performances, and securing top-flight survival as early as possible.
