AC Milan Eye Summer Move for Casemiro to Reunite Him with Luka Modric

AC Milan are reportedly exploring the possibility of signing Casemiro from Manchester United during the upcoming summer transfer window. The potential deal could allow the experienced Brazilian midfielder to reunite with his former teammate Luka Modrić, with whom he previously built a successful partnership at Real Madrid.
Casemiro’s current contract with the English club is set to expire in June 2026, and there have been no clear indications of a renewal so far. This situation opens the door for other clubs to consider a move for the veteran midfielder. At 34 years old, he still offers leadership and defensive stability, qualities that many teams value in a central midfielder.
Reports from transfer insiders suggest that Casemiro would be interested in playing alongside Modrić again. Their time together in Madrid produced one of the most effective midfield combinations in European football, helping the Spanish giants dominate major competitions for several years. The possibility of recreating that chemistry is believed to be a motivating factor behind the potential transfer.
Another element that could make the deal feasible is Milan’s current midfield structure, which already includes experienced players such as Adrien Rabiot. However, Casemiro’s high salary in England could be an obstacle. For the move to happen, he may need to accept a lower wage in exchange for the opportunity to compete in the UEFA Champions League.
The plan also fits the vision of Milan’s head coach Massimiliano Allegri, who is believed to favor experienced players to strengthen the squad. Bringing in a seasoned midfielder like Casemiro could add leadership and balance to the team’s midfield while guiding younger players as the club continues to rebuild its competitive edge.
