UEFA Champions League Knockout Play-offs: Real Madrid Could Face Benfica Again

The UEFA Champions League has completed all matches of the league phase, and the knockout play-off draw has now been confirmed. After losing 2–4 to Benfica, Real Madrid will remain in the same draw pot as Benfica for the play-offs, with Bodø/Glimt as the other possible opponent.

Knockout Play-off Draw Rules
The knockout play-off draw is based on teams’ rankings from the league phase. Teams ranked 9th–16th are seeded, while teams ranked 17th–24th are unseeded. Seeded teams will play the first leg away and the second leg at home.


During the draw, the 16 teams are divided into four groups:
1. 9th / 10th / 23rd / 24th
2. 11th / 12th / 21st / 22nd
and so on.
The draw begins with the unseeded teams, after which the seeded teams are drawn as their opponents.
