Spain Confirms It Will Host the 2030 World Cup Final, Says RFEF President Louzán
According to Spain’s Marca, on Monday at the Spanish Sports Journalists Association awards ceremony held in Madrid, Spanish Football Federation president Rafael Louzán clearly stated for the first time that the final of the 2030 World Cup will be hosted in Spain.

“Spain will be the core of this World Cup, and the final will be played here,” Louzán told the media after receiving his award. Although he did not reveal which stadium would host the match, his remarks marked the first explicit and public confirmation from Spanish officials that Spain will stage the showpiece final of the tournament.

In the past, Louzán had repeatedly expressed his hope that the final would be held in Spain but had never given a definitive answer. Under the current joint bid by Spain, Portugal, and Morocco, Morocco had also been considered a strong contender to host the final. However, Louzán’s latest comments have largely ruled out that possibility, indicating that Spain has now secured the right to host the decisive match of the 2030 World Cup.

In addition to the World Cup announcement, Louzán also spoke about this season’s Copa del Rey final ahead of the ceremony. He said the final is likely to be scheduled for the weekend of April 18–19. However, he acknowledged that there could be a fixture clash if Real Betis reach both the latter stages of the Europa League knockout rounds and the Copa del Rey final.
In response, Louzán stressed, “We are already in communication with all the relevant parties, including UEFA, and we will do our best to coordinate a reasonable solution.”
