On Thursday night, the opening leg of Linfield's Europa League qualifying match against Swiss champion FC Zurich will take place.

Linfield defeated Bodo/Glimt 1-0 in the first leg of their Champions League qualifying match, but in the return match, they were dealt one of their most crushing defeats ever - a 8-0 defeat in Norway last Wednesday. But they did triumph in both of their competitive home matches in the Champions League qualifiers last month, keeping a clean sheet on both occasions.

FC Zurich

Zurich lost to Qarabag on aggregate by a score of 5-4 at the end of last month in Champions League Qualifying. Last season, Zurich won the Swiss Super League for the 13th time. But they failed to win any of their five competitive games this year, including last weekend's 2-0 loss at St Gallen.

Prediction

Zurich are the meeting's preferred city. The team are not in the finest of shape, though. They didn't only miss the Lucerne national championship.
