When the Colorado Rapids meet New York City FC at Yankee Stadium on Sunday, they will be looking for their first away win of the Major League Soccer season.
New York City Football Club
New York City currently unbeaten in 11 consecutive games in all competitions - sit atop the Eastern Conference table with 26 points. Their defense has been practically impenetrable recently, with five consecutive clean sheets in all competitions and no goals surrendered in MLS play since April. Each of their previous three wins saw a different player score the game-winning goal (1-0).
Colorado's 23-match undefeated streak came to an end with a 3-1 loss to Nashville SC in June, after some encouraging performances earlier in the month. Their performance at home has kept them from dropping too far behind the playoff line, but they have struggled to control opponents on the road, surrendering 13 of their 17 goals this season.
Colorado is a better club than their record suggests, but New York has much too much talent for them to handle, and they can win by scoring goals or playing a strong defensive game.
