Borneo FC Takes Cautious Approach in Transfer Market, Welcomes Marcos Astina

Borneo FC is approaching the second transfer window of the 2025-26 Super League season with caution. The club emphasizes careful decision-making, balancing team reinforcement with budget considerations. The management believes that strengthening the squad does not rely solely on new signings, but also on optimizing the performance of the existing players.
Coach Fabio Lefundes highlighted that one of the team’s main challenges is maintaining player fitness. Injuries or absences have previously affected the squad due to limited alternatives, making it crucial to manage the current roster effectively. Ensuring that players remain in good condition is a top priority to keep the team competitive throughout the season.
Despite the cautious approach, Borneo FC has made their first acquisition in this transfer period, signing Marcos Astina. Astina, who can play as an attacking midfielder or striker, is expected to add depth and flexibility to the team’s offensive line. His arrival brings potential for interesting tactical combinations in the forward lineup.
Currently sitting at the top of the Super League standings, Borneo FC has experienced a brief dip in form, failing to win in their last three matches and earning only a single point. This highlights the importance of maintaining consistency and finding solutions to return to winning ways.
To secure their lead in the league, the team must refocus on performance and results. Their next challenge comes at the end of 2025, when Borneo FC will visit Malut United FC at Stadion Kie Raha Ternate on December 28, aiming to end the year on a positive note.
