Bali United Strengthen Midfield with Teppei Yachida Ahead of Second-Half Push

Bali United have moved quickly to reshape their squad ahead of the second half of the 2025-26 BRI Super League by officially signing Japanese midfielder Teppei Yachida. The Serdadu Tridatu have been among the earliest clubs to announce new additions, signaling their ambition to remain competitive as the season resumes.
Yachida arrives from J2 League side RB Omiya Ardija after weeks of speculation surrounding his move, which intensified when he was seen alongside Bali United’s top management. The 24-year-old midfielder is set to experience Indonesian football for the first time and is scheduled to make his debut in early 2026, wearing the number 17 shirt.
During his time in Japan’s second division, Yachida built a solid reputation as a hardworking and creative midfielder. He recorded 30 appearances with RB Omiya Ardija, contributing one goal and five assists, while his overall J2 League career includes more than 100 matches, along with consistent attacking contributions from midfield.
At international level, Yachida has also shown promise after debuting for Japan’s U-23 national team in 2023, where he managed to score twice. However, his arrival comes with lingering questions, as previous Japanese players at Bali United struggled to replicate their form compared to their performances at other clubs in Indonesia.
Beyond Yachida’s signing, Bali United are expected to remain active in the transfer market. Head coach Johnny Jansen has indicated that discussions with other potential recruits are ongoing, suggesting further announcements could follow soon as the club looks to bolster its squad depth and sustain momentum for the remainder of the campaign.
