Steven Gerrard: Not Rushing Back to Management, Open to Helping Liverpool
Former Liverpool and Rangers manager Steven Gerrard recently addressed his future in coaching during an interview on Ally's Social Club with Ally McCoist. Having been out of management since leaving the Saudi Pro League side Al-Ettifaq in January 2025, Gerrard emphasized that he is currently enjoying his role as a pundit and is in no rush to return to the dugout unless a "perfect project" emerges.

Addressing recent rumors of a potential return to Rangers following the dismissal of Russell Martin, Gerrard confirmed that while he held positive discussions with the club's board, the timing was not right. He noted that he is "not a magician" and would require the proper tools and support staff—reminiscent of his first stint at Ibrox—to ensure success. Ultimately, he decided to step aside, leading the club to appoint Danny Röhl instead.

Gerrard also spoke candidly about Liverpool, currently under the management of Arne Slot. Despite the club's recent fluctuations, Gerrard offered his full support to the Dutch manager, stating he wants Slot to succeed and make the club great again. However, he made it "brutally honest" that his loyalty to the Reds remains absolute, noting he would be willing to help the club in "any department at any time" if ever called upon. For now, the 45-year-old remains focused on his family and his television duties with TNT Sports, waiting for a managerial challenge that truly reignites his passion.
