Persib Hit with Nearly $500,000 Fine by AFC for Fan Misconduct

Persib Bandung has once again been sanctioned by the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) following a disciplinary hearing on 15 December 2025. The club, known as Maung Bandung, was found guilty of several serious violations during their Group G away match against Selangor FC on 6 November 2025. As a result, AFC imposed a fine totaling USD 30,000, equivalent to approximately Rp499 million.
The penalties stem from misconduct by Persib supporters, who breached stadium regulations and AFC’s code of conduct. Several fans entered the pitch during the match, a clear violation of the disciplinary rules. These actions were categorized as serious breaches under AFC regulations and highlighted as unacceptable behavior during official matches.
According to the official statement, twenty fans affiliated with Persib entered the playing area, with three individuals directly stepping onto the field during the game. Additionally, some supporters threw objects, including empty water bottles, toward the pitch and surrounding areas, creating unsafe conditions for players and officials.
Due to these incidents, the AFC ruled that Persib had violated Article 65.1 of its disciplinary and ethical code. The governing body emphasized the severity of these actions, noting that fan behavior directly impacted the integrity and safety of the match. The fine was issued to underline the need for strict compliance with stadium regulations and to prevent similar events in the future.
Persib is required to pay the full amount within 30 days of the decision. This latest sanction serves as a reminder to the club and its supporters that maintaining order and discipline in both domestic and international matches is crucial, and repeated violations could lead to even harsher penalties.
