Australia A-League -- Adelaide United  VS  Perth Glory

Adelaide Utd have a number of players out injured, while Perth Glory may regain Alex Grant and Tomislav Mrcela after minor thigh issues.

Adelaide Utd

Suspended: None

Doubtful: None

Injured/unavailable: Papa Diawara (knee), Lachlan Brook (knee), Ben Halloran (knee), Nikola Mileusnic (ankle), Jordan Elsey (foot)

Perth Glory

Suspended: None

Doubtful: Alex Grant (thigh), Tomislav Mrcela (thigh)

Injured/unavailable: None

Fifth-placed Adelaide Utd are winless across their past four league matches (two draws, two losses), seeing them lose their grip on a top four spot, which equates to a home final, so there is plenty on the line for the Reds with six league games to play. Their home form is mediocre, claiming four wins, four draws and three defeats from 11 league matches at Coopers Stadium. The team were beaten 2-0 away at Sydney FC in their last league outing two weeks ago.

Leaders Perth Glory have dropped points in their past two league matches – both away draws – to hold on to a six-point lead at the summit from Sydney FC.  Following their 2-2 draw at Melbourne City at the beginning of March, they will be desperate to avoid any more wobbles as the pressure mounts in the premiership race, but they are unbeaten on the road all season with six wins and four draws.

Adelaide Utd’s recent form isn’t ideal and despite holding home ground advantage, I think Perth Glory have something to prove here after their recent dip and will win.

The goals have dried up for Adelaide Utd, managing only two strikes in their past four league matches, while Perth Glory have firepower everywhere, led by Diego Castro, Chris Ikonomidis and Andy Keogh. The table toppers are the joint highest scoring away team in the Australian top flight with 21 goals and have scored 14 times in the last six league matches alone. With that in mind, I’m tipping the away side to score first.

Perth Glory won 2-0 last time out in Adelaide in the league back in November, but both teams have won twice and drawn once in the last five league meetings.
