The New York Red Bulls have listed Florian Valot as injured.

Toronto FC is reporting Erickson Gallardo as questionable and announced the signing of winger Nicolas Benezet from Guingamp in France.

The New York Red Bulls allowed three goals against for the second time in three league games as they were beaten 3-2 at home by the Columbus Crew last weekend. They have now lost two of their last three league contests whilst winning the other one and have just three victories in their last eight league fixtures (one draw, four losses). Brian White gave the Red Bulls the lead in the 15th minute but it lasted just 60 seconds. Columbus went in front 2-1 in the 46th minute with Daniel Royer equalizing on a 63rd minute penalty. The Crew then snatched the winner in the 84th minute. The loss leaves the Red Bulls with 34 points and they sit in fifth place in the East. However, they are just two points ahead of eighth-place Toronto FC in the top-seven playoff race.

Toronto FC's fight for the playoffs received a big boost last weekend with a 2-1 home league win over FC Cincinnati, the league's bottom placed side. Man of the match Nick DeLeon scored for Toronto in  the 16th minute and Jozy Altidore scored for the fourth straight league match in the 50th minute to double the lead. Cincinnati replied eight minutes later but Toronto hung on. It was the team’s third win in the last four league matches, having lost the other one, and they now have 32 points on the season. They remain out of a playoff spot though, just a point behind the New England Revolution and the Montreal Impact in sixth and seventh place.

The New York Red Bulls won't be happy with their recent 3-1 league loss in Toronto and will be out for revenge. Meanwhile, Toronto FC have won only one of their last seven away league matches (two draws, four losses). I think the hosts will take all three points.

Just one of the New York Red Bulls’ last nine league matches has featured fewer than three total goals, with the team scoring fewer than two goals on only three occasions during that run. Toronto FC have netted 12 goals in their last seven league matches, drawing a blank only once. I like the chances of at least another three total goals in this league match.

Toronto FC won 3-1 at home in the league in mid-July. However, the New York Red Bulls won twice in league action last year, without conceding.
