Grampus are still missing Ryota Aoki to a long-term injury and also will be without Yukinari Sugawara and Hiroki Ito, who are with the Japan Under-20 squad. Eduardo Neto is being treated for hip impingement.

Yamaga are reporting only Hiroki Yamamoto out injured.

Grampus held Kawasaki Frontale to a 1-1 draw last weekend in J1, with Grampus away from home. Their goal came from Mateus on the stroke of half time. Considering that they have won just three of their last seven league matches they are doing very well to stay in second place in J1. And am amazing statistic (when considering they scored 13 goals in their first five league games) is that Grampus have scored just eight goals in those seven league games. The key is that they have tightened up a defence that leaked 59 goals last season. Grampus won 3-1 away at Vissel Kobe on Wednesday night in League Cup play.

Yamaga had a J1 weekend to forget last week with a 5-0 away defeat to Kashima Antlers. They have two wins in their last 10 league matches, but importantly against teams below them to keep them away from the bottom of the table. But, just three points from the last place they are nowhere near safe and will still be one of the favourites to be relegated, especially after last weekend's drubbing. Yamaga were held 0-0 by a Gamba team that had already qualified for the knocjkout stage of the League Cup on Wednesday night.

Grampus are inconsistent right now yet still remain in 2nd place, they should have enough to beat Yamaga, but it might be close.

Three goals conceded in their last six league matches, and three clean sheets says to me that Grampus can stop their visitors from scoring and that 1-0 would be enough to win this, especially seeing that Yamaga haven't scored for four matches either!

The last time these two met was in 2017 when Grampus had dropped a division and the games took place in J2. Grampus won both matches.
