Sanga went behind in the 3rd minute against Mito HollyHock last weekend in J2 before coming back to take the lead through Kazunari Ichimi and Keiya Sento. They then conceded an equaliser in the 79th minute – even though up against 10 men - to see the game end 2-2. They are one loss in 10 league games – a tricky away tie at in-form Omiya Ardija – and are impressing all with their results in 2019. Kazunari Ichimi (on loan from Gamba Osaka) continues to score goals, supported by many others as Sanga have 20 goals in their last nine league games.

V-Varen beat FC Ryukyu 3-2 at home last weekend in J2, but almost let it slip after being 3-0 up with 10 minutes to go! Yuhei Tokunaga, Yohei Otake and Takashi Sawada scored the goals. After four league wins running, V-Varen slipped to three games without a win until last week saw them back on the road. For them Hiroto Goya (on loan from Gamba Osaka) is scoring well and helping them rise up the table.

Sanga's overall form, and their home form should see them through this one, while it may not be all their own way with V-Varen having not lost for three away league matches.

Sanga have scored two goals in their last four home league games (and 29 goals overall – only two teams are better in attack in J2) but have only three home clean sheets in J2 all season. Goals for both teams with 2-1 the most likely score.

These two teams did not meet last season as V-Varen were in J1, but in 2017 V-Varen won both matches as they headed for promotion.
