Two newcomers meet in Helsingborgs and both are in need of points. The home side have not won in seven league games (three draws, four losses) and they are desperately lacking the leadership from captain Andreas Granqvist and veteran midfielder Alexander Farnerud, who are both out injured. Last weekend they surrendered their 1-0 lead away to AFC Eskilstuna with just minutes left to play and had to settle for a 1-1 league draw. Nine points from ten league games is not what they had hoped for after returning to the Swedish top flight. At home they have a rather good record though, with two wins, two draws and a single loss to champions AIK Solna in league action - so they will hope that they can beat Falkenbergs.

Falkenbergs have only won once in the league this season and that win came in March. They are coming off a 2-0 league loss away at AIK Solna. With five points from ten league games Falkenbergs look certain to be relegated already. They will need to get something out of this league contest.

Falkenbergs overachieved last season when they gained promotion from the second division and they have not strengthened the squad since. Helsingborgs, meanwhile, are hoping for a mid-table finish despite plying their trade in the second tier last year, too. This league clash will give an indication as to whether that aim is realistic. I think it is and will back the hosts to win here.

Helsingborgs have scored three goals overall in their last five league games. Falkenbergs have not scored in their last three league games, and they have the fewest amount of goals scored in the whole league.

There has been just one win for Falkenbergs in the last ten league meetings against Helsingborgs, having lost six and drawn three. Helsingborgs have won the last two league encounters with Falkenbergs.
