Uruguay: Outsider for tournament win ( Recent Form: L W W W W )

In South America and far beyond, Brazil and Argentina receive the most attention. While these two top countries have mainly performed very volatile in recent years, Uruguay is the constant factor in the CONMEBOL zone. The old nestor Oscar Tabarez has been a national coach at La Celeste for many years, and this Copa America will undoubtedly go a long way. The country is even a dangerous outsider for tournament win, partly because Brazil and Argentina are once again struggling. Uruguay is indeed a country to be reckoned with. In fact, if the country were to compete against Brazil or Argentina, I would probably put my money on Uruguay. The blue shirts have a good mix of experience and talent, and rolled over poor Ecuador in their opening match with a resounding 4-0 victory. Former Ajax players Nicolas Lodeiro and Luis Suarez in particular issued their calling cards. The only stain was the injured player from midfielder Matias Vecino, who can write the rest of the Copa America on his stomach. With Lucas Torreira, Tabarez has a great alternative.

Japan: Youthful team ( Recent Form: L W D W L )

For Japan, which traveled to South America by invitation with Qatar, this Copa America is primarily a great learning opportunity. The Olympic Games will be held in Tokyo next year, and it is hoped that they will be able to win a medal with the football team. National coach Hajime Moriyasu therefore put together a very young and inexperienced selection, of which no fewer than sixteen of the 23 players still had to make their debut for The Blue Samurai at the start of this tournament. It was therefore no surprise that in its first group match against cleansed Chile, youthful Japan fell 4-0 hard. Despite the defeat, Moriyasu was not dissatisfied. "We have to accept that there is a big difference in quality between Chile and us," said the Japanese national coach. "I am, however, very pleased with our fighting spirit. We dared to show our teeth and created some good opportunities. Hopefully we can continue along this line. " One of the players who got the audience on the bench was attacker Takefusa Kubo, who will be part of the second team of Real Madrid from next season. In the tenth minute he showed a Chilean with a delicious panna, and in the second half he was close to a Japanese hit with a shot in the side net. The chance that this young Japan will survive the group stage is of course extremely small, but the Asians hope to be able to score this Copa America at least once.

After all, the matches between Uruguay and Japan in the past are often the banquets. This will most likely not change in the upcoming game.
