Reds to Continue Their Revival With Another Win
---------------------------------------
TEAM NEWS

Urawa Reds continued their revival after a management change, winning 3-2 away at Vissel Kobe. Mauricio scored the additional time winner for them. Both Ugajin and Moriwaki were missing, both still doubtful.

Shimizu S-Pulse went down to a shock 1-0 home defeat to V-Varen Nagasaki in midweek. Attacking players Crislan, Mitchell Duke and Koya Kitagawa all started on the bench and all came on as S-Pulse tried to get back into the game after going behind early. They still miss five players through injury.

MATCH PREVIEW
MAIN PREDICTION: HOME WIN

Urawa Reds have won two in-a-row since they switched managers and, scraping a late winner against Vissel midweek. Despite missing Tomoaki Makino from their defence last Wednesday, replacement Iwanami scored a (fortunate) goal against his former club. In fact their first goal, also, from Muto also had an element of luck as he mishit the first shot straight at the goalkeeper, but it came back at him and he converted the second attempt. So, combine a team that looks like they want to play again, with a team that has the luck going for them. Don't bet against Reds here!

Shimizu S-Pulse have been doing far better than expected so far and were unlucky to lose against F.Marinos! And Wednesday night saw another example of how our beautiful game is so unpredictable, when S-Pulse lost, at home, to a team that have never won J1 game before – V-Varen Nagasaki. The away team's 23rd minute goal was all that was needed to sink S-Pulse to their second 1-0 home defeat in-a-row. To add to that they've managed just two draws so have not won a J1 match since they won two away games in early March. They may not struggle this season, but their bubble may have burst now.

So... a team that are newly-renovated under new management – with all the adrenaline that goes with it (Urawa Reds) and a team that was confidently performing above expectations but went down 1-0 at home to a struggling team in the week (S-Pulse). I see a home win.

SECOND PREDICTION: FIRST TEAM TO SCORE - REDS

Since I am predicting a home win it's a good bet that Reds will score first, also, especially as they have two goals in the first 10 minutes already this season. An early start for the home team.

HEAD TO HEAD

These two teams have met 33 times since 2003, with Reds winning 16 times to S-Pulse's 11 victories. There have been 6 draws in that time period. Reds won away and drew at home last season.
