United States: Doing well ( Recent Form: L W W W D )

The United States, of course, together with Italy and the Netherlands, was the major absenteeist at the World Cup last year. However, the football association has intervened well and has found its way up again under the leadership of the new national coach Gregg Berhalter. Since his appointment, USMNT is still unbeaten with three wins and a draw. The real work, however, begins on June 18, when the United States is allowed to open the Gold Cup against Guyana as a host country. The renovated United States team is a great combination of routine and young talent. Michael Bradley and Jozy Altidore, who both happen to have a past in the Dutch Eredivisie, together provide 255 caps for the much needed experience, although the lion's share of the 28-member selection with fewer than ten international matches is still relatively wet. The main absentee in the match selection for the international match against Jamaica is Christian Pulisic (Borussia Dortmund), who, like Tyler Adams (RB Leipzig), will arrive in the American camp later.

Jamaica: Has a real star again ( Recent Form: W W W L L )

In the distant past, Jamaica had access to the then Manchester United star Dwight Yorke, with whom the island even managed it under the leadership of national coach Leo Beenhakker until the 1998 World Cup in France. In recent years, Jamaica did not make much of any sense, but now The Reggae Boyz have a new star player again. Wing striker Leon Bailey (Bayer Leverkusen) has accepted an invitation from national coach Theodore Whitmore and will defend the colors of Jamaica at the Gold Cup. The intention is that he will make his debut against the United States. The Jamaican Football Association is of course not crazy, and Bailey had been on the grain for much longer. "I have invited him countless times and I have also spoken with his then club Genk," said former national coach Winfried Schäfer. "His stepfather always stopped that." Why Bailey and his entourage have changed their mind is not clear to me, but of course this is fantastic news for the football fans on the island. With him in the ranks Jamaica can again dream of a new success, although the rest of the selection remains very moderate. Most players play in the American MSL and USL, or are still active in their own country.

THE BETTING VERDICT:

After all, Jamaica's last two matches failed to score goals. Jamaica's attack is not appreciated. Besides, the last two games the US only score 1 goal / match against the opponent.
