Ardija's injury list did not improve this week, with four players not yet back in training. Kohei Yamakoshi was diagnosed and will be out for at least four months with a dislocated shoulder. Main goalkeeper Takashi Kasahara is out for two months with a broken finger.

Gifu's extensive injury list is also unchanged, with five serious knee injuries off the field.

Injured/Unavailable: Shin Kanazawa (groin strain), Noriyoshi Sakai (thigh tendon tear), Hiroyuki Komoto (calf), Daisuke Watabe (calf). Takashi Kasahara (broken finger), Kohei Yamakoshi (disclocated shoulder).

Doubtful: None

Injured/Unavailable: Michiya Okamato (knee surgery), Fumitaka Kitatani (knee injury), Kota Miyamoto (knee injury), Hayate Nagakura (knee), Yuta Togashi (knee surgery).

Last weekend Ardija pulled off an excellent 3-1 J2 home win over Kyoto Sanga with the goal coming from Kanji Okunuki, Akinari Kawazura and Juanma Delgado. This was a big game for me as Sanga were in form and growing in confidence while Ardija had five draws in their last six league games, but Ardija pulled it off and are now 13 league games unbeaten and within two points of the top spot. Surely a home game against bottom team FC Gifu will see them make that 14 unbeaten!

Gifu went down to yet another J2 defeat last weekend, at home to Albirex Niigata, their only goal coming from Yuya Yamagishi. They are now five league losses in-a-row and are already four points adrift of the team above them. They have some good players, pass the ball well, but the defence is weak and they do not take chances when they come. Surely against a very efficient and in-form host today their losing run will be extended.

Unbeaten Ardija, constantly losing Gifu. Home advantage Ardija, Gifu away have just a single point away from home this season. They won't add to that against a team in such fine form as Ardija.

While Gifu have been losing they have managed seven goals in their last six league games and are scoring. But they have conceded 15 in those games (22 goals total over six matches). Ardija have nine goals in six games, but only one clean sheet and 15 goals total in those games – an average of 2.5 goals per game. Against Gifu they may well be able to raise their average!

In J2 matches between these two teams last season Ardija won away but loss at home.
