Ipswich will be without Andre Dozzell, Danny Rowe and Emyr Huws for the visit of Leeds this Saturday. Jordan Spence is suspended.
As for Thomas Christiansen’s Leeds, they will be without the suspended Samuel Saiz, who was dismissed in the Whites’ shock FA Cup defeat at Newport. Midfielder Stuart Dallas is once again a doubt. Luke Ayling is out for the season after ankle surgery, so Leeds have brought in full-back Laurens de Bock from Club Brugge.
Suspended: Jordan Spence
Doubtful: None
Injured/unavailable: Andre Dozzell (cruciate ligament), Danny Rowe (leg), Emyr Huws (knee)
Suspended: Samuel Saiz
Doubtful: Stuart Dallas (ankle)
Injured/unavailable: Luke Ayling (ankle)
Ipswich, who have been challenging for a playoff spot for the majority of the season, have fallen away a bit in recent weeks. The Tractor Boys have dropped down to 12th in the Championship after picking up just four points from the last 18 on offer. Mick McCarthy’s men have not won at Portman Road since beating Reading 2-0 in mid-December. They were beaten 4-1 by Fulham away from home in their last league fixture and suffered another defeat four days later when losing 1-0 to Sheff Utd in the FA Cup.
Leeds were dumped out of the FA Cup at League Two Newport last Sunday in what was one of the shocks of the round. They have also taken just one point from their last two matches in the Championship when drawing 0-0 at home against Nottingham Forest. Nevertheless, United still occupy the final place in the playoffs. Only three teams have accumulated more points away from home than Leeds so far.
This is a tough one to call, but Ipswich are more than capable of piling more misery on Leeds this weekend. Town are relatively strong at Portman Road, winning seven of 13, so back Ipswich to come out on top here.
Ipswich have won 2-0 at home on three occasions this term. Put your money on another 2-0 Ipswich victory this Saturday.
There were five goals scored in the reverse match at Elland Road back in September, with Leeds beating Ipswich 3-2.
Prediction: Ipswich Town to win
