Wigan will be without the injured Michael Jacobs and Callum McManaman while Gary Roberts will be assessed after picking up a knock.

Norwich’s Louis Thompson could sit out this weekend’s league game with a knee issue while Carlton Morris will miss the next few weeks with an ankle problem.

Suspended: None

Doubtful: Gary Roberts (knock)

Injured/unavailable: Michael Jacobs (leg), Callum McManaman (hernia)

Wigan have had a topsy-turvy first season back in the English second division, but their home form has been very solid in the league. Athletic have won nine of their 20 league fixtures at the DW Stadium, along with seven draws and four defeats. In their last league outing, Paul Cook’s men lost 2-1 against Hull City at the KCOM Stadium. After 41 league games, the Latics have accumulated 41 points.

Norwich have the best away record in the league, winning 11, drawing seven and losing just two of their 20 fixtures away from Carrow Road. Last weekend, the Canaries thumped QPR 4-0, which they followed up with 2-2 home league draw with Reading in midweek. Daniel Farke’s Canaries lead the way at the top of the division having picked up an impressive 85 points from 41 league matches.

With the Canaries flying high at the summit of the league table, I can only see one winner in this one. Put your money on Norwich to secure their fifth successive away league win this weekend.

Since losing 3-1 at Preston in February, Norwich have won four away league matches on the spin, scoring the opening goal in each of those. I’m backing City to score first in another triumph here.

Wigan have beaten Norwich just once in the last five league meetings, drawing one and losing three. The Canaries sealed a 1-0 victory at Carrow Road in the reverse league match in September.
