TEAM NEWS

United star Alessandro Diamanti should be fit to return after missing his side’s goalless draw with Newcastle prior to the bye.

Roar striker Scott McDonald is unavailable under a contract clause after his January move from United. Scott Neville returns from his one-game ban.

Western Utd

Suspended: None

Doubtful: None

Injured/unavailable: James Delianov (knee), Aaron Calver (foot), Ivan Vujica (osteitis), Brendan Hamill (knee)

Brisbane Roar

Suspended: None

Doubtful: None

Injured/unavailable: Jordan Courtney-Perkins (knee)、Scott McDonald(contract clause)

MAIN PREDICTION: DRAW

Seventh-placed United have only won once in their past six league matches, collecting only five points during that run which has seen them slide outside the finals spots. This match will be played in Ballarat where they lost their match, 3-1 to Wellington.

Sixth-placed Roar are on the rise, having won three of their past four league matches. They’ve only lost once in their past seven matches, collecting 14 points along the way to move into the top six. Their away record isn’t great this term, but they’ve only lost once in their past four away league matches.

United’s home record is a worry and Roar’s form is impressive, but McDonald’s absence is a blow for the visitors, given the impact he’s had recently. I can’t split these two.

SECOND PREDICTION: FIRST TEAM TO SCORE – WESTERN UTD

Roar have only scored one first-half goal away from home in league action all season. As a result, I’ll back United to score first.

HEAD-TO-HEAD

These two clubs have only ever met once before, with United winning 2-0 in Brisbane in December.
