Jake Livermore will miss West Bromwich’s next few league games through suspension while Boaz Myhill, Ahmed Hegazy and Dwight Gayle are injury concerns.

High-flying Norwich have an injury crisis at the moment, with Louis Thompson, Marco Stiepermann, Moritz Leitner, Carlton Morris and Emiliano Buendia sidelined while Alexander Tettey, Jamal Lewis and Aston Oxborough are doubtful.

West Bromwich have been flying lately, although they were beaten 2-1 by Blackburn at Ewood Park on New Year’s Day. The Baggies hit back at the first time of asking, though, seeing off Wigan by a 1-0 scoreline in the third round of the FA Cup last week and advancing to the next stage of the competition. Prior to losing at Blackburn, Darren Moore’s men had won six and drawn three of their previous nine in the league. Albion have the second best home record in the league, accumulating 25 points from a possible 39.

Norwich have gone four games without a win across all competitions, drawing two and losing two. In their last league outing, City were held to a 1-1 draw by lowly Brentford at Griffin Park. Daniel Farke’s side then fell to a shock defeat in the third round of the FA Cup, losing 1-0 at home to third division outfit Portsmouth. Despite their slump in form, the Canaries remain second in the English second tier.

This is without doubt the standout fixture this weekend, as both teams have aspirations of reaching the top flight come the end of the season. I’m expecting a close game at The Hawthorns, but home advantage could be key. Back West Bromwich to secure a narrow victory on home turf this weekend.

West Bromwich have been leading at half time in their last two league and cup wins at The Hawthorns. I’m putting money on the hosts to win the first half this weekend, too.

These two sides played out a seven-goal thriller at Carrow Road in the reverse league fixture earlier in the season, with West Bromwich running out 4-3 winners at Norwich.
