-----------------------------------

Vitesse: Five wins in six last home games ( Recent Form: W W L W L )

The season started fantastic for Vitesse, which managed to gain points in the first few weeks and months of the season. The people from Arnhem are still not in a bad position on the league table, with a fifth place, only the good feeling has disappeared. The two most recent duels ended in defeats. Vitesse twice lost to a low-flyer. Last weekend, the yellow blacks remained substandard for ninety minutes in the match with FC Emmen (2-1). Yet the two defeats do not fall completely out of the blue, because despite the high score, Vitesse has been playing quite average throughout the season. Vitesse rarely shows really good football. Coach Leonid Slutskiy also acknowledged earlier that his team had achieved a few points too much, given the level shown. For Friday's match, there are question marks behind the names of Matus Bero and Navarone Foor.

Fc Groningen: Six unbeaten games ( Recent Form: D W D W W )

After twelve matches, FC Groningen has seventeen points behind its club name. The northerners are working on a good series. They scored no less than ten points from their last four league matches. Last week the team in their own stadium was too strong for Willem II. Whereas other teams often have difficulty with the Tilburg team, Groningen managed to neutralize the Brabant team fairly easily. The three points were dragged in by two goals from Kaj Sierhuis, who until then had no reputation as a goal-getter in Groningen. Last week coach Danny Buijs had to move around here and there, as not everyone was in top shape. That's how Charlison Benschop started against Willem II on the bench. His replacement Joel Asoro did not do so badly, so perhaps he can remain standing. Samir Memisevic could make his comeback in the base, although Buijs has little reason to take his defensive central duo apart, and the two central midfielders are also doing fine.

THE BETTING VERDICT:

After all, although Groningen is in good shape, the club performs a lot worse in away matches than in its own stadium. Despite the two lesser last duels, Vitesse has the qualities to attract this match. The odds for home win certainly offer value.
