Viking’s Johnny Furdal is likely to be absent again with an ankle problem. Axel Oskar Andresson is out for the season with a serious knee injury.

Bodo Glimt are without Vegard Moberg who is sidelined with an ankle injury. In addition, Victor Boniface is out indefinitely with a cruciate ligament injury.

Sixth-placed Viking won 2-0 away from home against Lillestrom in their last league match. When Sheriff Sinyan was sent off for the hosts, Viking were able to dominate the game. They took the lead just before half time when talented Norwegian youngster Kristian Thorstvedt poached a goal inside the six-yard box. Towards the end of the second half, centre back Viljar Vevatne headed home a second. In Stavanger, Viking are unbeaten in four league games this season and have won three of those, drawing one.

Bodo Glimt had a wasteful first half against Stromsgodset in their last league game, a match they eventually won 2-0 thanks to a Hakon Evjen strike in the 64th minute and a Jakob Glesnes own goal four minutes later. Away from home, the side have won two of their four away league games, drawing one and losing one. The club from the arctic circle have scored 21 times in the league this season, the second highest record in the Norwegian top flight, with only leaders Molde enjoying an even better one. Bodo Glimt have had nine different scorers in the league in 2019, but it is the Swede Amor Layouni who tops the club’s scoring chart with five goals.

Viking have won all of their last four league meetings against Bodo Glimt. That, coupled with their good home record in the league this season, is enough for me to predict a home win here.

There have been three total goals or more in four of the last six league meetings between these teams. I expect there to be plenty of total goals on show in this one.

Viking are on a four-match winning streak against Bodo Glimt in league action and have conceded only once in that run.
