----------------------------------------

Verona has started this season with a 1-1 draw at home and a nice win against newcomer Lecce 0-1, away from home. In that match, Verona was a slightly better team with 52% of ball possession, 4 shots on goal, 7 corner kicks, and 81% of correct passes. Verona has won this match by a late goal from Matteo Pessina. Verona is a solid team who ended up 5th in Serie B last season but it will be really hard for them to stay in Serie A despite their good start of the season. Verona has also signed a new coach Ivan Juric in July of this year who has plenty of experience in both Serie A and Serie B. Verona doesn't have a signature game style and is not overly offensive team and I think that they will be forced to defend against most of the teams in Serie A. Pessina and Veloso have both scored 1 goal each while Zaccagni added one assist. Badu, Crescenzi and Di Carmine are all injured and will not be playing. Verona was pretty well last season in Serie B but they just don't have the quality to compete with the teams in Serie A and will be close to relegation zone if not in the relegation zone.

Milan has made a lot of changes to come close and compete with Juventus and Napoli but is not doing too good for now. They started by hiring a new coach, Marco Giampaolo who should bring some stability to their defense and get more imagination to their offense. Milan also brought a few new players with the latest one being Ante Rebic from Eintracht. Rebic is a strong, and fast winger who could one of the key players in Milan. In the first game of the season, Milan was playing Udinese away from home and lost 1-0, while in their second game they played Brescia at home and won 1-0. In that game, Milan was solid with 62% of ball possession, 4 shots on goal, 5 corner kicks, and 85% of correct passes and has won by an early goal from Hakan Calhanoglu who was their best player in first two games. Caldara and Hernandez are injured while Biglia is still questionable. Milan has a lot of potentials, especially on the offensive end where they have plenty of talent in Suso, Piatek, and Castillejo who are still not in goal-scoring form. Last season Milan ended up in 5th place in Serie A, just 1 point behind Inter and got qualified for Europa League. With the new general manager and new club management, Milan has asked UEFA to step out of Europa League to get their budget in order and they got approved. This means that Milan will be playing only in Serie A and Coppa Italia and will have a slight advantage in the chase for Juventus.

Verona has started the season in a good way but the quality is on Milan's side and I see them winning this match. Milan was struggling on the offensive end and scored only 2 goals in two games. This international break could have been just what Milan needed to wake up and start scoring more goals.
