No change in Ventforet's four listed injuries. Dudu is not in full training, nursing a shoulder injury.

Verdy have no injuries reporting but do miss Kota Watanabe to the experimental Japan squad at the Copa America.

Doubtful: Dudu(shoulder)

Injured/Unavailable: Masato Yuzawa (knee surgery), Hidetaka Kanazono (knee surgery), Hideomi Yamamoto (ankle), Kazuhiro Sato (knee injury).

Suspended: None

Doubtful: None

Injured/Unavailable: Kota Watanabe (Japan national team).

Jumma Miyazaki equalised once for Ventforet at 1-1 last weekend in J2 play before they had to equalise again in the 93rd minute, through Koichi Sato, to give the home team a 2-2 draw with Montedio Yamagata. Ventforet hit a rough patch of two losses against lowly teams – JEF United and Tochigi – but have now gone three wins and a draw in a four-game unbeaten run. What's more, they have scored nine goals in four games as they find their shooting boots again. With just one goal conceded in those four games they must be confident of a win here. They also know the urgency of this match being just three points from the top of the division.

Verdy went down 3-1 at Kagoshima United last weekend in J2, with Junki Koike scoring their only goal when already 3-0 down. They are in an opposite run of form to their hosts, having gone seven games unbeaten before now losing two running. Having Kota Watanabe unavailable is unfortunate but their forwards are not taking chances and the defence was dire in the opening 30 minutes or so last week against struggling Kagoshima United. Five points from the relegation spots, but five points from the top eight.

While Verdy will now it is time to improve if they are to have a chance of reaching the play-off spots they are up against a team in form, showing confidence and scoring goals. I see nothing but a home win here.

Ventforet have scored first in 10 of their 17 games so far, with seven goals in the first 15 minutes of games. Verdy have four so are not shy, but Ventforet are in form, Verdy are not.

In J2 matches between these two teams last season Ventforet won away and drew at home.
