Vegalta Sendai: In amazing home shape (Recent Form: WWLWWL)

Vegalta Sendai ended last season around the middle of the table and for this new campaign their goal is again first not to get involved in the relegation battle and if possible to attack the places around the middle and in the first half of the ranks. The team had quite a bad start of the campaign, losing a whole nine times in their opening thirteen league matches (3-1-9), but as of recently their performance both in the league and in the cup had improved big time and they were able to move up in the ranks in the J-League, as the main reason for that is without a doubt their great home performance. Right now they are on a run of three consecutive victories in the league, as well as in the midweek Vegalta managed to beat Nagoya with 1:0 in the cup, which unfortunately was not enough, as they lost the first game with 0:2, but still that was another positive result in their ranks for sure. Overall the team won four of their last five games in all competitions (4-0-1), which is surely a great run, but what is even more impressive is their run at home, given the fact that right now Vegalta Sendai is on a run of eight consecutive games in all competitions without a defeat, winning seven of these matches (7-1-0), as well as the last five in a row.

Sapporo: Another good season (Recent Form: WWWDWD)

Sapporo had an amazing last season, when they ended up on fourth place and were close to the top three and a position in the Champions League, as this year again they were not expected to do much, but the team continues to play good football and are currently on sixth place with twenty seven points collected (8-3-5), as well as managed to qualify for the quarterfinals of the cup. However, away from home the club is struggling a bit, having won just three of their opening eight league games (3-2-3), being without a victory in their last three matches and overall having scored just six times in all these eight visits.

The Betting Verdict:

This will be a really tight game, but I will trust Vegalta Sendai here, as they are just playing excellent football at home in the last two months and with Sapporo not being on their best shape as visitors recently, I think that the home side have the advantage here.
