Vasco da Gama will miss one of their best young prospects this round, as defensive midfielder Bruno Gomes is suspended together with Richard, who plays at the same position.

As for Palmeiras, they come to this match with almost their entire squad, with the only absence being midfielder Ramires, whos’ getting fit before coming back to the team.

Even though their chances of getting relegated are close to none, Vasco da Gama coach says they are still focused on that battle, especially because they’ve failed to win their last three games in the Brasileiro and come from a goalless draw in the derby against Fluminense.

Palmeiras also kept a clean sheet last weekend when they beat Ceara 1-0 with a lot of complaints from the visitors who claim the VAR made a mistake disallowing one of their goals, and with that win they are still following the leaders closely and dreaming of winning the title in the end of the year.

The problem is that they haven’t been playing well – despite the win they were completely dominated by Ceara last round – and have only one win in the last four rounds they played as visitors, but luckily for them Vasco da Gama haven’t been good either in these last couple of weeks, which is why we can expect them to draw this match.

Having scored 48 goals in 30 rounds, Palmeiras have one of the best attacks in this year’s Brasileirao but they’ve scored more than twice in only one of the last nine rounds, and with that we understand why they’ve had only four away games ending with three or more goals, which once again won’t happen this midweek, leading this match to a low score.

The last time Vasco da Gama beat Palmeiras was back in 2015 and this is the sixth match after that – Palmeiras won three of the previous five games.
