MATCH PREVIEW
MAIN PREDICTION: HHAD - San Jose Earthquakes (+1) AWAY WIN

The Vancouver Whitecaps drew the Houston Dynamo 2-2 at home in a thriller on Friday night, but still have just one win in the last six matches along with four losses and the recent draw. Houston opened the scoring in the 35th minute, but the home side equalized through Jose Aja just before half time. The game then went end to end in the last ten minutes or so and the Dynamo took the lead in the 90th minute. However, the Whitecaps earned a point when man of the match Kendall Waston headed in a free kick in the fourth minute of injury time. Vancouver has four wins, two draws and five losses on the season for 14 points with five wins, eight defeats and four draws in their past 17 MLS matches. They have two wins, two draws and a loss at home this year.
The San Jose Earthquakes snapped their seven-match winless streak at five losses and two draws last Saturday with an impressive 3-1 victory in Minnesota. The Earthquakes took the lead after just two minutes through a Magnus Eriksson penalty kick. Minnesota equalized 24 minutes later, but Danny Hoesen put San Jose back in front after 69 minutes and Chris Wondolowski put the game out of reach just seven minutes later on another penalty kick. It was just San Jose's second win of the campaign and they also have two draws and five losses for eight points. They also have just four victories in their past 15 MLS outings along with eight losses and three draws, with a win, draw and three losses on the road this season.
San Jose has been relatively successful against Vancouver with only two losses in their past nine meetings. I think they can pull out a draw here. To play it safe, San Jose Earthquakes on the +1 market seems a wise choice here.

SECOND PREDICTION: FIRST HALF HAD – DRAW

The Vancouver Whitecaps have been level seven times at half time in their 11 games this year, more than any other team. I'm expecting another draw after 45 minutes against the San Jose Earthquakes.

HEAD TO HEAD
The Vancouver Whitecaps thumped the San Jose Earthquakes 5-0 last fall in the playoffs while San Jose were 3-2 winners at home in league action and also drew 1-1 in Vancouver. San Jose has three wins, four draws and just two defeats in the last nine meetings in all competitions.
