MATCH PREVIEW

MAIN PREDICTION: DRAW

The Vancouver Whitecaps were hammered 6-1 away by Los Angeles FC in the league last weekend despite Yordy Reyna giving the visitors a fifth minute lead. Things just got worse from there as their opponents pumped in six goals in a span of 37 minutes and Vancouver's Fredy Montero was sent off with a red card five minutes before the final whistle. Vancouver is now winless in their last five league contests with two straight losses following three consecutive draws. They have taken just 20 of 60 points this season from four wins, eight draws and eight defeats in league action and they will now find it a tough task to make the playoffs in West.

Sporting Kansas City managed to edge the Chicago Fire 1-0 at home in the league last weekend after being hammered 5-1 on home soil by Los Angeles FC a few days earlier in league action. Man of the match Yohan Croizet scored the lone goal of the league game in the 14th minute and goalkeeper Tim Melia earned the clean sheet. They visit the Vancouver Whitecaps this weekend with a poor away league record of one win, four draws and four defeats.

These teams have 15 draws between them in the league this year and drew each other in May in league action. I can see another draw this weekend.

SECOND PREDICTION: FIRST HALF HAD – DRAW

The Vancouver Whitecaps and Sporting Kansas City have been level at half time a combined 15 times in 39 league games this season and I like the odds of a 45-minute tie.

HEAD TO HEAD

The teams drew 1-1 in Kansas City in the league in May. Sporting Kansas City has two wins, two losses and one draw in the last five league outings.
