MATCH PREVIEW

MAIN PREDICTION: DRAW

The Vancouver Whitecaps gave up a late goal to Toronto FC in their last league match in late May and had to settle for a 1-1 draw at home. They enter the week with a four-game unbeaten streak in the league at a win and three draws. They have lost just twice in the last 11 league matches with four wins and five draws. The side remains in ninth place in the West and are within striking distance of a playoff spot, but they need to turn some draws into wins. However, they haven't scored much with 17 goals in 16 league matches, although they have conceded just 20.

The Colorado Rapids remain one of the hottest teams in the league after their 1-0 home league win over Minnesota in their last league outing. Kei Kamara scored the lone goal of the league game in the 29th minute and his eighth of the season while goaltender Tim Howard posted the clean sheet. Colorado now has four wins, a draw and two losses in the league since Conor Casey replaced Anthony Hudson as manager. They team was winless in their first 11 league matches this term with nine defeats and two draws, but their league unbeaten streak now stands at four wins and a draw.

Both teams are riding unbeaten streaks in the league and I'm expecting a draw in Vancouver.

SECOND PREDICTION: FIRST HALF HAD – DRAW

The Colorado Rapids have led at half time in only three of 16 league games and the Vancouver Whitecaps have led in five of 16 in league action. I expect this league game to be level at the break.

HEAD TO HEAD

The Vancouver Whitecaps won 3-2 in Colorado in a league encounter in May. They have four wins, a loss and two draws in the past seven league encounters.
