The Vancouver Whitecaps report Yordy Reyna, Michael Baldisimo, Jasser Khmiri and David Norman Jr as injured.

Atlanta Utd expect to be without George Bello, Kevin Kratz, Michael Ambrose and Brandon Vazquez with injuries while Ezequiel Barco is on international duty. Midfielder Justin Meram was acquired from the Columbus Crew last week.

The Vancouver Whitecaps are unbeaten in the last three league matches with two wins and a draw following their 1-0 home whitewash of the Portland Timbers last weekend. The win also means they have lost just once in the past six league games to go with three victories and a pair of draws.

Fredy Montero scored the lone goal of the league game in the ninth minute and man of the match Maxime Crepeau made five saves to earn the clean sheet. The win gives Vancouver 12 points on the season and saw them reach the playoff zone for the first time this year. They remain at home to host Atlanta Utd and have two wins, two draws and two losses in the league at BC Place with five goals scored and six allowed.

Atlanta Utd have racked up four straight league wins and clean sheets after shutting out Orlando City 1-0 at home last Wednesday. They now have 17 points on the season from five wins, two draws and three losses in the league. The majority of their league games have been relatively low-scoring though with 12 goals for and eight against in ten league outings. They return to the road this week where they have an even record of two wins and two losses in the league, with five goals scored and four allowed.

Vancouver and Atlanta have improved after slow starts, but I don't think Vancouver can match Atlanta's tight defence. I'm expecting an away victory.

The Vancouver Whitecaps have a habit of being drawn at half time as five of their 11 league games have been level after 45 minutes including three of six league matches at home. I believe the chances of another draw at the break are quite good.

The teams have met just twice in the league before with Atlanta Utd winning 4-1 at home last season and the Vancouver Whitecaps winning 3-1 at home in 2017.
