Valerenga thrashed Haugesund 4-1 away from home in the league last time out. Goals from Bard Finne (two) and Aron Donnum eased the Oslo club into a 3-0 lead by half time before Chidera Ejuke added a fourth goal in the second half. Ibrahima Kone scored a consolation for the home side 13 minutes from time. Ronny Deila’s men have been very solid in league games played at the Intility Arena this season where they have won four times, drawn once and lost once. They ended the weekend in fifth in the table, a position that will no doubt be pleasing to their fans. Valerenga are now unbeaten in their last two league games (one win, one draw) and have won three of their last six league contests (one draw, two losses).

Bodo Glimt beat Odd BK 3-0 at home in their round 13 league match. Haakon Evjen got the ball rolling with a 30th minute strike and Ulrik Saltnes made it 2-0 in the 70th minute before Philip Zinckernagel added a third goal seven minutes from time. Bodo Glimt’s away form has been solid in the league so far with three wins, one draw and one loss, making them the third best away side in the Norwegian top flight. Powerful Amor Layouni is the club’s top scorer with six goals, but it has been the promising youngster Evjen who has arguably been their best performer as the skilful wide player has been a delight to watch at times.

Valerenga’s league win over mid-table side Haugesund last time out isn’t enough to convince me to back them in this one. I think they may struggle against an in-form Bodo Glimt, who have won their last three league matches in a row. I will predict an away win.

Four of the last five league meetings between these teams have contained two total goals or fewer and that could mean we could witness another low-scoring league encounter here.

The last five league meetings between these teams have all ended in draws.
