-----------------------------------

VVV Venlo: Keep the current position ( Recent Form: L L D D W )

Relegation candidate has had a good second half of the season so far. At the resumption of the season, VVV drew 1-1 against PSV and last weekend there was a win over competitor RKC Waalwijk. VVV did not play really well in Waalwijk and the victory might not have been fully deserved, but nobody in Limburg really bothered about that. Because of the three points achieved, VVV was above the relegation line. One is currently the number fifteen in the ranking. Just like many other clubs, VVV was still looking for new players. They were found last week. Thomas Bruns has joined the team of coach Hans de Koning. He should be able to take the team with his qualities further. An unknown player was also attracted. Defender Roy Gelmi was hired from the Swiss FC Thun until the end of this season. Apart from Evert Linthorst, everyone on the VVV side is available on Sunday.

FC Utrecht: After 4-0 win ( Recent Form: L W D D W )

The Domstad club delivered an excellent match last week. In its own stadium, Utrecht was the better team in the match against ADO Den Haag from the kick-off. This resulted in chances and goals, against an otherwise very weak ADO. Sean Klaiber was the center of the celebration. The right-wing defender surprisingly scored twice. With the 4-0 win, Utrecht is still doing well in the battle for Europa League football. Among others, Bart Ramselaar and Adam Maher were absent last week. They may be available again in Venlo, although John van den Brom could not or would not tell if they will start. There is also something to be said for an unchanged basic team. Utrecht has a wide selection, so there was no need to attract new players at the last minute. Jeroen Zoet and Kristoffer Peterson are of course new to the team.

THE BETTING VERDICT:

After all, Utrecht played a strong game last week. If Van den Brom's team manages to reach that level again on Sunday, then normally a breakout will follow. VVV started the new year well, but the Limburgers are of a poor quality for Utrecht. The odds are on the verge of playability, but still offer some value.

VVV Venlo -  FC Utrecht
